Print your comic from Comic Studio

Prepare a comic PDF, choose a paper size and print a proof. Learn what Use My Printer does on desktop and mobile, and check lettering, margins and image resolution.

A readable print starts with the file you send to the printer. LlamaGen creates digital comic pages and offers a browser print workflow. For a booklet or commercial print run, confirm the file requirements with your chosen print provider.

What you get

A PDF or a desktop print dialog for your comic. Printing, binding, shipping and a printer’s acceptance of the file are separate from generating the comic.

Follow the workflow

  1. Choose all pages or a subset

Use My Printer prepares all comic pages. If you only want selected pages, download a PDF with the desired page selection first, then print it from your PDF reader.

  2. Set the physical page

For a chosen paper size, use the Download dialog’s PDF options or Save All As PDF, then select size, orientation and caption settings. Options include A4 and several comic or manga sizes, plus custom dimensions. Auto Fit follows the artwork; it is not a promise of bleed or a printer-specific template.

  3. Open the print workflow

Choose Use My Printer for the all-pages Auto Fit workflow. On desktop it opens the PDF print flow. On mobile, or where the print helper is unavailable, it downloads a PDF that you can open in a compatible reader and print from there.

  4. Print one proof

In your print dialog choose the printer, paper and scaling deliberately. Inspect dialogue, page order, edges and color on one proof before printing the complete set. Confirm duplex order and binding with the printer if needed.

Choose the right workflow

Home or classroom sheets

When to use it
Save a PDF at the intended sheet size and inspect one test page.
What to check
Choose fit-to-page or actual-size scaling intentionally. Printer margins can reduce the usable page.

A comic booklet

When to use it
Export reviewed pages and confirm trim, binding and page order with your printer.
What to check
The Studio export does not automatically impose a booklet or certify PDF/X, CMYK, bleed or crop marks.

A large poster or gift

When to use it
Check the pixel dimensions at the intended physical size before printing.
What to check
Bigger paper does not add image detail. The DPI checker helps calculate effective resolution; it does not upscale or certify the file.

Before you share or print

  • Keep lettering and faces away from the physical cut or non-printable edge. Confirm the printer’s safe area rather than assuming the on-screen border is sufficient.
  • Measure effective DPI from source pixels and print size. For example, 1024 pixels across 4 inches is 256 DPI; across 8 inches it is 128 DPI.
  • Compare the PDF at its final reading size. If text is too small, revise the lettering or layout before enlarging the whole page.
  • For professional production, ask the provider for trim size, required resolution, color profile and bleed. Use a suitable prepress tool if those requirements exceed the Studio export.

Common questions

Why did Use My Printer download a PDF on my phone?

The mobile workflow downloads the prepared PDF instead of invoking the desktop print helper. Open the file in a PDF reader that supports your device’s printing or sharing options.

Does Use My Printer print just the current page?

It prepares the complete comic. For a subset, use the Download dialog’s PDF page selection, then print that PDF. Always review the page count before sending a job to the printer.

Is a 1024px comic automatically ready for print?

No. Suitability depends on the original image detail, lettering, physical print size and the printer’s requirements. The new-page canvas basis and the final print resolution describe different things.

Can LlamaGen order or ship my printed comic?

This Comic Studio workflow produces digital files and opens or prepares a print workflow. It does not place a print order, bind a book or arrange delivery.
