Export your comic to PDF
Download selected Comic Studio pages as one PDF. Compare page-range export with Save All As PDF, choose a reading or paper size, and check the result before sharing.
Reviewed by the LlamaGen product team ·
A PDF keeps your comic pages together in reading order. Start with a comic you made in LlamaGen, finish its lettering, then choose the pages to deliver. This workflow exports your own project; it does not download books from another website.
What you get
One document containing rendered comic pages. Dialogue and artwork are part of each page image; the PDF is a reading copy rather than an editable comic project.
Follow the workflow
Review your comic
Open your project in Comic Studio. Check page order, dialogue, missing panels and text close to the edge. Exporting does not correct mistakes in the story.
Choose the pages
Open Download, choose PDF, then select all pages, the current page or a custom selection. Check the selected pages before starting. The PDF options also include paper size, orientation and captions. Save All As PDF is an alternative entry with its own page selection.
Match the destination
Keep a reading copy at the settings available to your account. PDF compression and downloading pages as separate PDF files require a paid plan. Paper size and orientation are available in the PDF settings. For paper output, choose the intended paper and orientation in the PDF settings instead of assuming every page is A4.
Download and open the PDF
Wait for the file to finish, then open it in a PDF reader. Inspect the first and last page, page count and small dialogue. Keep the original Studio project if you will edit and export again.

Choose the right workflow
Download → PDF
- When to use it
- Deliver all, current or selected pages as one reading copy.
- What to check
- The page selection in this dialog determines what is included. PDF compression and separate per-page PDF files are paid options.
Save All As PDF
- When to use it
- Start with all pages selected, then adjust selection, Auto Fit, paper size, orientation and captions.
- What to check
- You can deselect pages in this separate dialog. Auto Fit follows the content rather than guaranteeing a standard print trim size.
Images or CBZ
- When to use it
- Choose images for another design app, or CBZ for a compatible comic reader.
- What to check
- Multiple image pages download in a ZIP. CBZ is a paid format; it is not a PDF.
Before you share or print
- Compare the exported page count with your chosen range, especially after adding or rearranging pages.
- Read the smallest speech bubble at the size your audience will use, rather than only zoomed in.
- An SVG export can embed raster artwork. Neither PDF nor SVG guarantees pure vectors, editable dialogue, CMYK, PDF/X or printer-ready bleed.
- For a revised story, edit the Studio project and export again. Keep a clearly named final copy so readers receive the right version.
Common questions
Can I export only one comic page as PDF?
Yes. The Download dialog has current-page and custom-page selection as well as all pages. Save All As PDF also starts with all pages selected and lets you deselect pages. Use My Printer always prepares all pages.
Is PDF export available on a free account?
PDF appears among the standard Download formats. PDF compression and separate per-page PDF files are paid options. Paper size and orientation are available in the PDF settings. Generation uses credits separately. Check the signed-in dialog and current Pricing for the options your account can use.
Can I edit the speech bubbles in the downloaded PDF?
The exported page is rendered artwork, including its lettering. Keep editing the original project in Studio. A PDF reader does not recover the underlying panels or text objects.
Does choosing a bigger paper size increase the original artwork detail?
No. Paper size controls placement and scaling. Enlarging a rendered page does not create missing source detail. Check a print proof and the effective resolution at the intended physical size.
